Ice Age (2002) Trailer

Ice Age (2002) at a glance
Ice Age (2002) is the first film of the successful Ice Age franchise; other three being Ice Age: The Meltdown (2006), Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs (2009) and Ice Age: Continental Drift (2012). This 3D animated comedy film series is about the adventures of prehistoric animals living and surviving in the Ice Age. According to 20th Century Fox, the fifth film would be released in July 2016.

Ice Age (2002) Synopsis
The adventure begins when Manny, a stubborn mammoth, begrudgingly teams up with Sid, a hapless sloth, to return an abandoned human baby to his family. To make it in time they must trust the tracking skills of Diego, a surly saber-toothed tiger with ulterior motives. Survival is the name of the game, but nature has a funny way of proving that even the most unlikely of mammals can learn to become a family. Or in some cases, a major animation studio.

Movie Review: Ice Age (2002)
Sid, Manny and Diego.

This film will reveal to us how Manny, Sid and Diego meet each other but it is also precisely a story about three prehistoric animals and a baby. I find the whole thing very draggy and the only thing I liked about this film is Scrat, the saber-toothed squirrel with acorn fetish (minor appearances) so watching this film certainly gave me a huge shock. *Strangely, I did not remember watching this as a child but totally did not expect Ice Age films started like this*

Look at the visuals!

Fortunately, all the shortcomings have been compensated in the newer Ice Age films. Perhaps the production emphasized too much on visuals so it lacked big time in terms of storyline and characters. Can't wait for Ice Age 5!! ^^

Ice Age (2002) Behind the Scenes

Favorite Movie Character
Scrat and his beloved acorn.

Scrat, the saber-toothed squirrel with acorn fetish, is small and furry and has a long, bushy tail. He is never without his beloved acorn and his obsession (and the impacts of his obsessions) with it is always exaggerated, which is always adorable to watch too.

I would give it tons of acorns anytime, if only it is a real living creature. :<
